Riley Anne Greer is an artist and arts educator whose work bridges the familiar and the unknown, the natural and the constructed. Through painting, illustration, and sculpture, she creates visual experiences that invite viewers to explore the tension between these realms. Central to her process is an ongoing investigation of myth and memory, woven into each piece to evoke a sense of liminality and wonder.
Her sculptural works extend these concepts into three-dimensional space, often embodying creatures of liminal spaces that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination—grounded in nature yet otherworldly in presence. Her use of collage, both in physical and digital forms, further enhances this interplay as fragmented imagery and layered textures reinforce themes of transformation and duality. Regardless of form or medium, she constructs imagery that encourages viewers to discover independent emotional connections and meanings, offering space to shape their own narratives rather than having a story dictated to them. Her artistic process is deeply rooted in observation, emotional resonance, and a continuous dialogue with materiality.
As the former Art Education Director at Hearts Unknown Education, Riley designed and implemented creative programming to guide at-risk youth through hands-on artistic exploration, reinforcing her belief in art as a tool for connection and discovery. With a bachelor’s in Studio Art from Oregon State University and an MA in the Business of Creative Enterprises from Emerson College, she merges artistic vision with innovative problem-solving and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Whether through large-scale sculpture or intricate illustrations, Riley’s work invites audiences into spaces of reflection, curiosity, and transformation, encouraging them to engage with the world in new and unexpected ways.
